the particles have collided elastically, therefore the coefficient of restitution will be 1

m1u1+m2u2 = m1v1+m1v1
(2)(0.5)+(1.5)(-0.3) = (2)(-0.5)+(1.5)(v2l
1-4.5 = -1+(v2)1.5
(1.5)(v2)-1 = -3.5
1.5v2 = -3.5+1
1.5v2 = -2.5
v2 = -5/3
