A 30 cm long line segment is to be divided into two parts in the ratio of 2:3. Find the length of each part .

Answer:

let the ratio be 2x and 3x

so, 2x+3x=30

5x=30

x= 30/5

x=6

2x= 2×6=12

3x= 3×6=18
