let the ratio be 8x and 7x

ATQ

7x + 8x = 30

15x = 30

x= 2

so two parts length are 7x = 14cm & 8x = 16 cm

Answer 2

let the common multiple be x

hence, the ratios are 7x and 8x

from given condition......

8x+7x=30

15x=30

x=30/15

x=2

hence , 8x = 8×2=16

7x=7×2=14

hence the length of each is 16 and 14 cm
