length of the ruler = 30cm
8x + 7x = 30
15x = 30
x = 30÷15
x = 2
8x = 8×2
= 16 cm
7x = 7×2
= 14 cm
8x + 7x = 30
15x = 30
x = 30÷15
x = 2
