A 4 cm cube is cut into one centimetre cube calculate the total surface area of the small cube what is the ratio of surface area small cube to that all large cube? .

the answer is 6m² or 1:16 but I don't know how to solve it

Answer:

TSA of the bigger ( 4cm ) cube = 6S^2 = 6×4^2=6×16=96 cm^2

TSA of the smaller ( 1cm ) cube = 6s^2=6×1^2 = 6cm^2

Ratio of the surface area of small cube to that of the large cube =

6 \div 96 = 1  \div 16

Therefore Ratio = 1:16
