Image will be 3.33cm on the right side of the mirror and will be virtual.

Height of the image will be 1.332cm

Correct Question:

A 4 cm tall object is placed at a distance of 7.5 cm in front of the plane mirror . Calculate it's image distance and height of the image.

Answer:

image distance = 15 cm, height of image = 4 cm

Explanation:

Given that a 4 cm tall object is placed at a distance of 7.5 cm in front of the plane mirror. We need to find out it's image distance.

Now,

In case of plane mirrors; the object distance is equal to the image distance. Therefore, the image distance is twice or two times the sum of object distance i.e. (7.5 + 7.5) 15 cm. Also, the image size is same as that of the object size i.e. 4 cm and formed image is upright.

Hence, the image distance from the plane mirror is 15 cm.

Focal length of plane mirror is infinity. Because when a ray of light strikes the plane mirror, it reflects back in a parallel way (means parallel to each other). In this way then we can meet at infinity or maybe never.
