Given : 40% of the students in a certain college arè girls . 5% of the students in this college are members of culture club 3% of the students are girls in the culture club.

To find : Probabilities for different condition

Solution:

Let say Total Students = 100

Girls = 40

Boys = 60

Member of culture club = 5

Girls in culture club = 3

Boys in culture club =2

Probability of The student is a member of the culture club given that the student is a girl.   = Girls in Culture club / total Girls

= 3/40

Probability of the student is a girl given that she is a member of culture club. =  Girls in Culture club / total Members of culture club

= 3/5

probability of The student is a boy given that he is a member of culture club. = Boys in Culture club / total Members of culture club

= 2/5
