Answer:

Explanation:

Voltage = 240V

Load = 4500V

Power factor = 0.75

Capacitance is the ratio of the change in an electric charge to the corresponding change in its electric potential in a system.

Capacitance required = P [ tan∅1 - tan∅2] / w(V²)

cos ∅1 = 0.75 , ∅1 = 41.4°

cos ∅2 = 0.9 , ∅2 = 25.84°

Capacitance needed = 4500 [ tan 41.4 - tan 25.84 ] / (2 x π x 60 x 240²)

On solving we will get, 61.8 uF

Thus, the  the parallel capacitance required is 61.8uf
