let the 1st pice be x
second piece be 3x
third piece be 5x + 2
a/q
x + ( 3x ) + ( 5x + 2) = 47
9x = 47 - 2
9x = 45
x = 5
1st = 5
2nd = 3 * 5 = 15
third piece = (5*5)+2
=27
