A 5.5m long ladder is leaned against a wall. The ladder reaches the wall to a height of 4.4m. Find the distance between wall and foot of the ladder.

a^2+b^2=c^2

to apply the theory we will take the ladder length as hypotenuse and wall as perpendicular line

so a^2 + (4.4)^2 = (5.5)^2

= a^2+19.36 = 30.25

= a^2 = 30.25 - 19.36

= a^2 = 10.89

= a = \sqrt10.89

= a = 3.3 answer
