A 500 g sheet of tin sinks in water but if the same sheet is converted in to box or boat it floats because of density. The sheet has high density and the box has low density.due to air trapped in the box.

ANSWER

this is due to archimedius pruncipal

or difference in relative density.

  • when a 500g sheet of tin is dipped in water it dipped in water it has more weight then the weight it displace
  • when a box is dpped in water then it displace equal amount of weight of water to its weight.
  • this is fundamental law in physics
  • ships, submarines made on the basis of this law

hope it helps
