Amount of work done = mass of the person × height × acceleration due to gravity .

Given :

Mass of the body (m) = 66 kg .

Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s²

Height of the stairs (h) = 3.7 m

W = m g h

⇒ W = 66 kg × 9.8 m/s² × 3.7 m

⇒ W = 2393.16 kg m/s²

⇒ W = 2393.2 J approximately .

The work done is approximately 2393.2 J .

EXTRA INFO :-

The work done is positive when the displacement is done in the direction of force.

The work done is negative when the displacement is in the opposite direction of applied force .

The work done is zero when the displacement is perpendicular to the direction of force applied .

The work done is F S cos Ф where S is the displacement and Ф is the angle of displacement .

Hey there!

Given,

Mass of person (m) = 66.0 kg

Height of stairs (h) = 3.70 m

Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s²

Now,

Work done = Potential Energy

                   = mgh

                   = 66.0 * 3.70 * 9.8

Work done  = 2393.16 J             ←(Answer)
