A 8000 kg engine pulls a train of 5 wagons, each of 2000

kg , along a horizontal track. If the engine exerts a force of

40,000 N and the track offers a force of friction of 5000 N,

then calculate:

a) the net accelerating force;

b) acceleration of the train​

mass of engine (m1)=8000kg

mass of train of 5wagon(m2) =2000×5=1000kg

engine exert force =40000N

tract of force friction =5000N

a) net force =40000N-5000N

net force =35000N

b) we Know that F=m×a

35000=10000×a

a=35000/1000

a=3.5m/s
