a) A tinmaker converts a cubical metallic box into 10 cylindrical tins. Side of a cube is
50 cm and radius of the cylinder is 7 cm. Find the height of each cylinder so made
if the wastage of 12% is incurreal in the process.​

Answer:

for cube l=50cm

total surface area of a box

=6l²=6×50²=15000cm²

12% wasted

88 % area of total surface area of box is used

88 % of 15000=13200 cm² is used to make 10 cylindrical tins

area of tin required for 1 box =13200÷10=1320 cm²

2×22÷7×7(7+h)=1320

on solving, we get, h=23 cm
