According to the question :
A alone can do the work in 8days
A alone can do the work in one day =1 / 8
Now B alone does half of the work done by A alone in one day.
So Work done by B alone in one day = 1/8 ÷ 2
= 1/8 × 1/2 = 1/16
Let the No. of days in which they can do the work together be x
= 1/8 + 1/16 = 1/x
L.C.M = 16
2 + 1 / 16 = 1 / x
3 / 16 = 1 / x
3x = 16
x = 16/3
So they can together complete the work in 16/3 days .
