If both will born on the same day, it could be any one day out of 365 days. So the probability of being born on the same day is 1/365.
If both born on different days then one is born on any day of 365 days, whereas the other one is born all days except the day first one has born. So probability will be equal to 365/365(first born any of the days out of 365 days)* 364/365 ( all days except the day first born) = 364/365.
‘OR’
1 - P(different birthdays) i.e. 364/365

Answer:

(364/365), (1/365)

Step-by-step explanation:

A may have any one of the 365 days of the year as her birthday.

B may have any one of the 365 days of the year as her birthday.

∴ n(S) = 365 * 365

(i) Different birthdays:

If they have different birthdays, then the possibilities are 365 * 364 days.

∴ Probability that they have different birthdays = (365 * 364)/(365 * 365)

= (364/365)

(ii) Same birthday:

Probability that they have the same birthday = 1 - (364/365)

= 1/365.

Hope it helps!
