Given :-----

  • Distance b/w A and B stations = 390km.
  • Speed of Train starts from A = 65km/h and it starts at 10am.
  • Speed of Train starts from B = 35km/h and it starts at 11am.

To Find :------

  • At what time they will meet ?

Solution :--------

Train starts From A at 10am , at speed of 65km/h and upto 11am , in 1 hour that travel and let reach at Point C .( see in diagram ) .

D = S × T

D = 65 × 1 = 65km .

now,

Distance left to be travelled = 390-65 = 325km ..

Now, From C train travel at 65km/h and From B train travel at 35km/h , both at same time now, and let, they meet at Point D ...

Since ,

Both Trains are traveling Towards each other (opposite Direction ) .

So,

Usual Speed = 65+35 = 100km/h .

Distance to cover now = C to B = 325km .

Time = Distance / Speed .

→ Time = (325/100) = 13/4 = 3(1/4) = 3 Hours (60/4) = 3:15 = 3 hours 15 minutes ..

Hence, Both Train will meet at

==>> 11:00 am + 3 : 15 = 14 : 15 = 2 : 15 pm .

So, Both Train will meet at 2:15PM...
