Data is called ' known facts'.

It refers to numbers but it includes words and images also. The full form of data is Data Accountability and Trust Act. Data doesn't rely (depend) on information.

Example:--- An email which may contain a message (including words ,numbers and images).

Information is used in many or different ways.

By information, people came to learn, to know something and to understand something. Information can't exist without data.

Example:--- We read newspaper to know about the news of local area or of whole world. In newspaper, we get data that is we get images , words and numbers about locality or world.
