Note that

a³ + b³= (a+b) (a² - ab + b²)

Put values according to question, we get

a³ + b³ = 5 ( 14 - ab) ......... eq. 1

so now the problem is, how to find ab?

let's see the identity (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab........ (eq. 2)

now, (a+b) = 5 so squaring it we'll get (a+b)²= 5²

⇒ (a +b)² = 25

now, put values in eq 2 to get the value of ab. we get:

25= 14 + 2ab

25- 14= 2ab

8= 2ab

ab=4

we have the value of ab now, put it in eq 1 and you'll get

(a³ + b³) = 5 ( 14- 4)

= 5( 10)

= 50

Answer: 50
