here is your answer
a+b=7
ab=10
a-b=?

so we can put these values in the formula
where
( {a + b})^{2}  = ( { a- b)}^{2}  + 4ab

 {7}^{2}  = (a - b) {}^{2}  + 4 \times 10

49 = (a - b) {}^{2}  + 40

now

49 - 40 =  {(a - b})^{2}

9 = (a - b ){}^{2}

 \sqrt{9}  = a - b

so value of a-b =3

hope it helps you
