Step-by-step explanation:

A can do a piece of work in 12 days

B can do same piece of work in 15 days

C can do same piece of work in 20 days

LCM  of 15,12,20 = 60

Rate of A = 60/12 = 5 units/day

Rate of B = 60/15 = 4 units/day

Rate of C = 60/20 = 3 units/day

If all of them work together, work done per day = 5 +4 + 3 = 12 units

For 4 days work done = 12x4=48 units

Work left after 4 days = 60 - 48 = 12 units

Time taken by A and B to complete = Work left / (rate of A+rate of B)=12/(4+3)=12/7=1.7 days
