A's share is 400, B's share is 200 and C's share is 100.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Time taken by A alone = 10 days,

So, his one day work = \frac{1}{10},

Similarly, time taken by B and C are 20 and 40 days respectively,

So, one day work of B = \frac{1}{20}

One day work of C = \frac{1}{40}

Thus, the ratio of one day work of A, B and C = \frac{1}{10}:\frac{1}{20}:\frac{1}{40}

= 4 : 2 : 1

∵ Wages ∝  work done,

That is, the ratio of wages of A, B and C = 4 : 2 : 1,

Consider, A's share = 4x, B's share = 2x and C's share = x,

Where,

x is any positive real number.

Total share = 4x + 2x + x = 7x,

According to the question,

7x = 700

\implies x =\frac{700}{7}=100

Hence, A's share = 4(100) = 400, B's share = 2(100) = 200 and C's share = 1(100) = 100.
