SOLUTION

GIVEN

a,b and c satisfy a+b+c=0 and abc=78

TO DETERMINE

The value of (a+b)(b+c)(c+a)

EVALUATION

Here it is given that

a + b + c = 0

So we get

b + c = - a

c + a = - b

a + b = - c

Now it is given that abc = 78

∴ (a+b)(b+c)(c+a)

= ( - c ) × ( - a ) × ( - b )

= - abc

= - 78
