Given:  A, B, C and D are partners. A and B share \frac{2}{3} of profits equally

To Find: Profit sharing ratio of A, B, C and D.

Solution:

Let total share = 1

A and B share \frac{2}{3}^{rd} of the profit equally

∴ 1 ×  \frac{2}{3} =  \frac{2}{3}

Left out Share = 1 -  \frac{2}{3}

                        = \frac{1}{3}

A's Share =  \frac{2}{3} × \frac{1}{2}

                = \frac{2}{6}

B's Share =  \frac{2}{3} × \frac{1}{2}

                = \frac{2}{6}

C's Share = \frac{1}{3} × \frac{3}{5}

                = \frac{3}{15}

D's Share = \frac{1}{3} × \frac{2}{5}

                = \frac{2}{15}

So, Profit sharing ratio of A : B : C : D

                                         \frac{2}{6} : \frac{2}{6} : \frac{3}{15} : \frac{2}{15}

                                    or, \frac{10}{30} : \frac{10}{30} : \frac{6}{30} : \frac{4}{30}

                                    or, 5 : 5 : 3 : 2  ( option A )
