A,B,C,D and E went to a restaurant for dinner. A paid 1/2 of the bill, B paid 1/5 of the bill and rest of the bill was shared equally by C,D and E. what fraction of the bill was paid by each?

Answer 1

A paid = 1/2 = 50% of the bill

B  paid = 1/5 =20% of the bill

Remaining is 30%. 

30%/3 = 10%
 
C, D, E   each will pay 10% each

10% = 1/10

Answer 2

bill paid by A = 1/2
bill paid by B=1/5
bill paid by C,D,E will be 1/2-1/5=3/10
since the bill is equally paid 
therefore,
               3/10*1/3=1/10
hence the amount of bill paid by C,D,E is 1/10.
