a + b + b +c +c +d +d +e = 8048
A + B +C +D +E = 5024 GIVEN
5024 + B + C+D = 8048
B + C+D = 3024
B + C = 2012 GIVEN
2012 + D = 3024
D = 1012
From eq 1
a + 2b + 2c + d +d + e = 8048
a + 2( b+c) + d + (d + e ) = 8048
a + 2*2012 + d + 2012 = 8048
a + d = 8048 - 4024 - 2012
a + 1012 = 2012
A = 2012 - 1012
A = 1000
D-A = X
D-A = 1012 - 1000
D-A = 12
