Back cross is a cross of a hybrid with one of its parents or any individual genetically similar to its parent in order to achieve offspring with genetic identity closer to that of the parent whereas a test cross is a type of back cross between the recessive homozygote and F1 generation.
If the individual being tested produces any recessive offspring its genotype is heterozygous and if all the offspring are phenotypically dominant, its genotype is homozygous.
Every test cross is a back cross but every back cross is not a test cross because in it F1 generation is crossed with one of the parent and is used to know the genotype of F1 generation.

Back cross can be a test cross

Explanation:

  • Back cross is a cross of a half and half with one of its folks or any individual hereditary like its parent so as to accomplish posterity with hereditary personality closer to that of the parent while a test cross is a kind of back cross between the passive homo zygote and F1 age.
  • In the event that the individual being tried creates any passive posterity its genotype is heterozygous and if all the posterity are phenotypically predominant, its genotype is homozygous.
  • Each test cross is a back cross however every back cross isn't a test cross in light of the fact that in it F1 age is crossed with one of the parent and is utilized to know the genotype of F1 age.
