Given,

A bag contains 1 rupee, 2 rupee and 3 rupee coins in the ratio 5:9:4.

Total amount = 129 rupees.

then, the number of each coin type = ?

Let us take,

Number of coins of denominations

Rs.1 =5x

Number of coins of denominations

Rs.2 =9x

Number of coins of denominations

Rs.3 = 4x

Now,

Amount of the denominations Rs.1 = 5x ×1

= 5x rs

Amount of the denominations Rs.2 = 9x×2

=18x rs

Amount of the denominations Rs.3 = 4x×3

= 12x rs

According to the question,

The total amount = 129 rupees

i.e. amount of rupee 1 + amount of rupees 2 +amount of rupees 3 = 129

5x+18x+12x = 129

35x = 129

x = 129/35

x = 3.6857142857

Now the number of coins of denominations Rs.1 = 5x = 5×3.685..= 18.425

The number of coins of denominations Rs.2 = 18x = 18×3.685 = 66.33..

The number of coins of denominations Rs.3 = 12x = 12×3.685 = 44.22..
