a bag contains 18 balls out of which X balls are red (1) if one ball is drawn at random from a pack what is the probability that it is not a red (2) if 2 more red balls are put in the bag ,the probability of drawing red ball will be 9/8 times the probability of drawing red ball in the same first case find the value of x

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In the first case, total balls are 18

red balls are x

Therefore, none-red balls are 18-x

Probability=required outcome/total outcome

In this case, probability =18-x/18

2) when two red balls are added,

No of red balls becomes x+2

Total balls become 20.

Therefore probability of drawing a red ball is x+2/20

Now I'm previous case probability of drawing red ball was x/18.

According to the question,

9/8*x/18=x+2/20

x/16=x+2/20

On cross multiplying,

20x=16x+32

4x=32

x=8

Therefore x is 8
