difference between monobasic and dibasic acid

acids that have their basicity as 1 are called monobasic whereas those having basicity 2 are called dibasic

by monobasic we mean that they give just one hydrogen atom on dissociation whereas dibasic give 2 hydrogen   (when dissolved in a solution)

but there are a few exception also

plz mark as brainliest.

 \textbf{MONOBASIC \: ACID}

◼They are the acids in which the concentration of hydrogen atom is one.So when they will react, only one hyrogen atom will get displaced per molecule when are in their aqeous solution.

◼The process of displacement of hydrogen atom is one step process.

Example :--

 HCl + H_2O \longrightarrow {H_3O}^{+} + {Cl}^{-}

Hydrochloric acid loses its one hydrogen atom to form hydronium ion when its in aqeous solution.

◼N AMES:-

▶Hydrochloric acid

▶Nitric acid

▶Acetic acid

 \textbf{DIBASIC \: ACID}

◼They are the acids in which the concentration of hydrogen atom are two .So when they will react, only two hyrogen atom will get displaced per molecule when are in their aqeous solution.

◼The process of displacement of hydrogen atom is two step process.

 H_2SO_4 + H_2O \longrightarrow {H_3O}^{+} + {HSO_4}^{-}

 {HSO_4}^{-} + H_2O \longrightarrow {H_3O}^{+} + {SO_4}^{-2}

Sulphuric acid loses its two hyrogen atom two produces two atom of hyrodnium ions.

◼N AMES

▶Sulphuric acid

▶Carbonic acid.

PSN03: the use of word replaced is wrong cause hydrogen atoms are getting displaced not replaced. the compound loses the hydrogen atom to form ions
