Given data :-

  • A bag contains 25 paise and 50 paise coins.
  • The number of 25 paise coins is three time the number of 50 paise coins.
  • The total money is 50 rupees.

Solution:-

Let, number of 25 paise be x & number of 50 paise be y

According to given

→ Number of 25 paise, x = 3y ....[1]

According to given

→ x + y = 50 ....[2]

{From eq. [1]}

→ 3y + y = 50

→ 4y = 50

→ y = 50/4

→ y = 25/2

→ y = 12.5 or 12 & ½

Put value of y in eq. [2]

→ x + y = 50

→ x + 12.5 = 50

→ x = 50 - 12.5

→ x = 37.5 or 37 & ½

Hence, 12 & ½ amount of coin of 25 paise in bag & 37 & ½ amount of coin of 50 paise in bag .
