Given :

  • Bag contains 25 and 50 paise coins.
  • The total value is ₹45.
  • The number of 25 paise coin is 4 times 50 paise coins.

To find :

  • The number of each type of coins.

Solution :

As it is given that the the 25 paise coins is four times the 50 paise coins.

∴ Let us assume the number of 50 paise coins as x

Then the number of 25 paise coins will be 4(x) = 4x

Now,

The value of 25 paise coins is = 25(4x) = 100x

And The value of 50 paise coins is = 50(x) = 50x

☆We will convert ₹45 to paise

So, 1 rupee = 100 paise

Therefore, ₹45 = (45×100)paise = 4500 paise

⠀⠀⠀According to Question,

⠀⠀⠀⠀⟾ 100x + 50x = 45

⠀⠀⠀⠀⟾ 150x = 45

⠀⠀⠀⠀⟾ x = 4500/150

⠀⠀⠀⠀⟾ x = 30

⠀⠀------------------------------------

Hence, the number of 50 paise coins is 30.

And, the number of 25 paise coins is 4×30 = 120.
