A bag contains 3 white 4 green and 5 red balls .How many ways two balls can be selected

Let's find out by how many ways can we select white balls. There are in total 3 white balls so total number of ways drawing one white ball from bag is 3C1=3

Similarly the number of ways a black ball can be drawn from the bag is 4C1=4

Total balls in the bag=3+4+5=12

Total number of ways selecting 2 balls at random from a bag containing 12 balls is=12C2=66

Probability of selecting one white and one black from the bag =(no of ways selecting one white ball*no of ways selecting one black ball)/total number of ways of selecting two balls

So probability is =(3C1*4C1)/12C2=12/66=2/11

Approx value=0.18182
