As the bag contains 5 blue gems out of 15 gems, so, the fraction will be 5/15. If we cancel 5/15 the answer will be 1/3. So, the probability of getting blue gem is 1/3.

Answer:

Option (A) 1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Total Number of Gems in the bag (total number of outcomes) = 5 + 8 + 2 = 15

Number of Blue Gems (favorable outcomes)  = 5

We know that Probability of any event

= number of favorable outcomes/ total number of outcomes

∴ Probability of getting a blue jam out the bag = 5/15

                                                                              = 1/3
