Given :

A bag contains different balls

  • White = 5
  • Red = 4
  • Yellow = 3
  • Green = 2

To find :

Probability that the ball drawn is neither white not red in colour

Formula used :

\sf Probability = \dfrac{Favourable\:outcome}{Total\: number\:of\:outcome}

Solution :

Total number of ball = White ball + Red ball + Yellow ball + Green ball

➝ Total number of balls = 5+4+3+2

➝ Total number of balls = 14

_______________________________________________

Now number of balls which are neither red nor white = Number of green ball + number of yellow ball

➝ Number of balls which are neither red nor white = 2 + 3

➝ Number of balls which are neither red nor white = 5

_______________________________________________

Therefore,

Total number of outcome = 14

Favourable outcome = 5

Probability (ball drawn is neither red nor white) = 5/14

ANSWER :

Option b) 5/14
