coins of 25p=600/25=24
coins of 50p=1200/50=24
total amount of money =600+1200=1800
amount after removing 25pcoins= 25×(24-12/100×24)

by calc.- amount after removing 25p coins=528rs

amount after removing 50pcoins=
50×(24-24/100×24)=912rs

total money removed from bag=1800-(528+912)=360rs

Answer:

The percentage of money removed from the bag is 21.6%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A bag contains 600 coins of 25p denomination and 1200 coins of 50p denomination.

To find:

If 12% of 25p coins and 24% of 50p coins are removed, the percentage of money removed from the bag is ___?

Total amount in bag is 600 x 0.25 + 1200 x 0.50

                                   = 150 + 600 Rupees

                                   = 750 Rupees

If 12% of 25p coins are removed

12% of 25p coins = \frac{12}{100} \times 600 =72 coins

and 72 coins = (72 \times 0.25)p = 18 rupees

24% of 50p coins are removed

24% of 50p coins = \frac{24}{100} \times 1200 = 288 coins

and 288 coins = 288 \times 0.50 = 144 Rupees.

Total amount of money removed from bag = Rs. (18+144)= Rs. 162

so, the percentage of the money removed from the bag is nearly

                      = \frac{162}{750}\times 100 = 21.6 %
