Given:

A bag contains 7 black, 5 white and balls

To find:

The probability that both balls are drawn were white

Solution:

Number of the black ball = 7

Number of the white ball = 5

Total number of the balls = 7+5 = 12

As per the given condition of the question the balls are drawn with replacement.

And in the case of the replacement, the number of the particular ball and the total number of the ball must remain the same.

So the probability of getting both balls as white is given by:

Number of white balls/ Total number of the balls×Number of white balls/ Total number of the balls

5/12×5/12

25/144

The probability that both balls are drawn is white 25/144
