A bag contains rupee, 50 paise and 25 paise coins in the ratio 5:6:8. if the total amount is rs 420 find the number of coins of each type
Answers
Total value of coins = Rs( 5x × 1+ 6x × 50/100+8x × 25/100)
= Rs(5x/30 + 3x/30 + 2x/30) {taking l.c.m as 30}
=Rs(10x/30)
But ,the total value of the coin is= Rs 420
Therefore,
10x/30 = 420
=> x= ( 420× 30/10)
=> x= 1260
Number of RS 1 coins = 5x= (5×1260) = 6300
No. Of 50 p coins = 6x=(6×1260) =7560
No of 25 p coins = 8x = (8×1260) = 10080
Answer: Rs.798
Step-by-step explanation:
Let the number of 1rupee, 50p and 25p be 5x,6x and 8x respectively.
:. Total amount of 1rupee =rs 5x
:. Total amount of 50paise=rs (50×6x)/100=rs3x
:. Total amount of 25paise=rs (25×8x)/100=rs2x
:.Total amount =2x+3x+5x
=>420=10x
=> x=420/10
=42
:. no. of 1rupee =5x= 5×42= 210
:. no. of 50p=6x=6×42=252
:. no. of 25p =8x=8×42= 336
:. total number of coins=210+252+336
=798

ratio of ₹1 , 50p and 25p coins
.
= 5 : 6 : 8
.
let the constant ratio be ' x '
.
₹1 coins = 5x, 50p coins = 6x,
.
25p coins = 8x
.
convert paise to rupees:
-----------------------------------
50p = 50÷100 = ₹ 0.5,
.
25p = 25 ÷ 100 = ₹0.25
.
total amount in the bag = ₹420
.
1( 5x) + 0.5( 6x ) + 0.25( 8x) = 420
.
5x + 3x + 2x = 420
.
10x = 420 => x = 42
.
therefore,
--------------
.
₹1 coins = 5x = 5 × 42 = 210
.
50p coins = 6x= 6 × 42 = 252
.
25p coins = 8x = 8 × 42 = 336
----------------------------
total coins = 210 + 252 + 336 = 798
------------
total number of coins = 798
----------------------------------------
