Given :  A bag initially contains one red and two blue balls  . an experiment consisting of selecting a ball at random noting its colour and replacing it together with an additional ball of same colour.

To find : if  three such trials are made,  ,  probability that at least one blue ball is drawn

Solution:

probability that at least one blue ball is drawn  =  1 - no Blue Ball Drawn

=> only red ball drawn in each trial

Initially two Blue balls  , one Red

Total Balls = 3

in 1st trial probability of Red  = 1/3

Red ball will be added

=>  two Blue balls  , Two Red

Total Balls = 4

in 2nd trial probability of Red  = 2/4 = 1/2

Red ball will be added

=>  two Blue balls  , three Red

Total Balls = 5

in 3rd trial probability of Red  = 3/5

probability that at least one blue ball is drawn  = 1    - (1/3)(1/2)(3/5)

= 1 - 1/10

= 9/10

= 0.9

0.9 is the probability that at least one blue ball is drawn
