Step-by-step explanation:

the ball rebounds 4/5 length each time before coming to rest .

so here let a = 4x , b = 5x , h= 100

required distance that will be travelled by the ball before coming to rest .

= h * (a + b) /(b - a)

= 100 * ( 4x+5x)/(5x-4x)

= 100 * 9x/x

= 100 × 9 = 900m Answer
