A ball is dropped from the top of a tower 40 m high. What is its velocity when it has
covered 20 m ? What would be its velocity when it hits the ground?

The velocity depends on height as v=(2gh)^1/2
when it is dropped from the height of 40m the velocity will be (approx.)=(800)^1/2
but at h=20; v= 20m/s. and when it hits the ground the v becomes zero.
