A ball is rolling from A to C on a flat and smooth surface. Its speed is 2cm/s. On reaching B, it was pushed continuously up to C. On reaching D from C, its speed had become 4cm/s. It took 2 seconds for it to go from B to C. What is the acceleration of the ball as it goes from B to C?

The ball was not pushed between A and B, and also between C and D. So, speed of ball at A = speed of ball at B, and speed of ball at C = speed of ball at D.
Speed of ball at A = 2 cm/s = speed of ball at B
Speed of ball at D = 4 cm/s = speed of ball at C
So, we now know the speed of the ball at points B and C, and we know the time taken by the ball to reach point C from point B, which is 2 seconds.
Acceleration = difference in speed/time taken = (4cm/s - 2cm/s)/2s = 1cm/s².

Solution:-

given by:-
A ball is rolling from A to C.
speed of the ball by( B to C) :-
speed( u)= 2cm/s ,and (v) = 4cm/s.
time (t) = 2 seconds.

by formula :-
v = u + at
> 4 = 2 + a×2
> 2a = 4 -2
> a = 2/2
> a = 1 cm/s^2

(the acceleration of the ball as it goes from B to C = 1cm/s^2)
