A ball is suspended from the ceiling of a bus with a string as the bus moves at a constant velocity. The driver applies the brakes at a constant rate during this time

a) the tension in the string is zero

b) the tension in the string is equal in magnitude than the weight of the ball

c) the tension in the string is smaller in magnitude than the weight of the ball

d) the tension in the string is greater in magnitude than the weight of the ball

Answer: Correct answer would be option (b).

Explanation: As the bus is moving with constant acceleration, there will be no pseudo force acting on the ball. And afterwards, driver applies brakes at also constant rate. So there will be again no pseudo force.

So, only one force would be acting opposite to the tension in the string, and that is weight of the ball.

Hope ur answer is cleared.

And if you are satisfied with ans pls mark me as brainliest..

Answer:

the tension in the string is greater in magnitude than the weight of the ball.

Explanation:

just do the regular algebric calculation and youll see the value of tension is higher than the (weight)mg) of the ball
