a ball is thrown up with a velocity .it attain height of 40m and comes back to the thrower . find the distance amd magnitude of displacement.

Distance = 2×40 =80 as the ball goes up and comes back
Displacement =0 as the ball comes back to the thrower therefore it's initial and final positions are same.

reason the ball covers a distance of 40m upward and again travels 40m downward so total distance travelled is the sum of these two.

Displacement =0m
reason:
the initial point from where the ball was thrown and final point where the ball landed r same.
