the ball will have equal potential energy and kinetic energy at middle of the height upto which ball travels.
Now,
v^2-u^2=2gh
u=20m/s,v=0,g=9.8m/s,h=?
0-20×20=2×9.8×h
-400=2×9.8×h
h=-400/2×9.8
h=-400/19.6
h=-20.408m
therefore, h/2=20.408/2=10.204m
answer is 10.204m
