We are given with, distance travelled,s = 126.5 m

and we know that, g = -10 m/s

and final velocity, v, here = 0 m/s. ( because ball is stopped at maximum height )

using the eq., v² - u² = 2as

0 - u² = 2(-10)(126.5)

u =√(1265)

u = 35.56 m/s

\green{\therefore{\text{Initial\:velocity=50}\sqrt{30}\:m/s}}

\orange{\bold{\underline{\underline{Step-by-step\:explanation:}}}}

• In the given question information given about a ball is thrown vertically upwards and rises to a height of 126.5m.

• We have to find Initial speed of ball.

 \green{\underline\bold{Given :}} \\ :\implies \text{Height=126.5\:m}  \\ \\ :\implies \text{Final \: velocity (v)= 0 \:m/s} \\ \\ :\implies \text{Acceleration\:due\:to\:gravity= 10\:m/}s^{2}\\ \\ \red{\underline \bold{To \: Find : }} \\ :\implies \text{Initial\:velocity(u)= ?}

• According to given question :

 \bold{using \: Third \: equation \: of \: motion } \\   : \implies  v^{2} = u^{2} +  2as   \\  \\  :  \implies 0 = u^2 \times 2\times (-10)\times 126.5  \\  \\ :  \implies -u^2 = -2530 \\  \\ :  \implies u = \sqrt{2530} \\  \\ \green{ :  \implies \text{u =50}\sqrt{30}\: m/s}
