A ball is thrown vertically upwards with a velocity of 49m/s.Calculate
(i) the maximum height to which it rises ,
(ii) the total time it takes to return to the surface of the earth.

a=10m/s

1. By third equation of motion

v²=u²+2as

0=49²+2×(-10)×s (Ball thrown in opposite direction of gravity)

-2401/-20=s

145.05m=s

2. By first equation of motion

v=u+at

0=49+(-10)×t

-49/-10=t

4.9 sec=t
