Solution :

Given :-

▪ A ball is thrown vertically upwards with initial velocity u

To Find :-

▪ Time taken by the ball to reach at maximum at height.

Concept :-

▪ Final velocity of the ball = zero

▪ g is negative due to retardation

▪ This question can be solved by second equation of kinematics...

Mathematically,

\underline{\boxed{\bf{\purple{v^2-u^2=2gH}}}}

  • v denotes final velocity
  • u denites initial velocity
  • g denotes acceleration due to gravity
  • H denotes height(distance)

Calculation :-

\implies\sf\:v^2-u^2=2(-g)H\\ \\ \implies\sf\:(0)^2-u^2=-2gH\\ \\ \implies\sf\:u^2=2gH\\ \\ \implies\underline{\boxed{\bf{\orange{H=\dfrac{u^2}{2g}}}}}
