A ball is thrown with some initial velocity.an acceleration of g acts on it.find the distance travelled by it in the last second of upwards motion.

In the last second of the motion,
t = 1s
v = 0
a = -9.8 m/s

v = u +at
⇒ 0 = u + (-9.8)×1
⇒ u = 9.8 m/s

S = (v² - u²) /2a
   = (0 - 9.8²) / 2×9.8
   = 4.9 m

Distance travelled in last second of upward motion is 4.9m.
