A ball of mass 100 g is moving with a velocity 10 m s it brought to rest after travelling a distance 5 m. by
applying a resistive force, calculate: (i) the retardation caused by the force, (ii) the resistive force applied​

2as =  {v}^{2}  -  {u}^{2}  \\ u = 10 \:  \: and \:  \: v = 0 \\ 2a(5) = 0 -  {10}^{2}  \\ a = -  10 \:  \:  \frac{m}{ {s}^{2} }

And force

f = ma =  \frac{100}{1000} kg \times 10 = 1 \: N
